Ways to Give
History is happening now. The recent passage of the Dodd-Frank Act will impact financial regulation for years to come.
The virtual museum and archive at www.sechistorical.org is uniquely positioned to share, preserve and advance knowledge of the past, present and future of financial regulation by:
- Expanding the scope of its collection to include the history of the new agencies and institutions engaged in the regulatory process, such as the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the soon-to-be formed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
- Quickening the pace of accession, by opening two Galleries each year, instead of the current annual Gallery, looking at such topics as Congress and financial regulation, corporate governance, the economists' role in the financial regulatory process, and financial regulation as seen in popular culture.
- Broadcasting more programs each year - and more in video - to ensure that the museum collection remains on the "cutting edge" of current financial regulatory topics.
- Enhancing the oral histories interviews conducted each year, to preserve the memories of those who worked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, in other regulatory agencies and in the industry - all who have helped to ensure that our financial markets remain safe and fair for all.
- Developing educational guides and tools for practitioners, teachers and students, utilizing the rich resources of the museum in work and study.
- Incorporating technological advances to ensure that the museum remains accessible on new mobile Internet devices.
This vision of the future will be possible through the generous support of people like you. Give today to help build the future of www.sechistorical.org.
