The SEC Historical Society announces the Second Annual Awardees for its Isaac C. Hunt Jr. Hall of Honor.
You are invited to a virtual celebration with this year's honorees as they share their SEC career and personal highlights with SEC Historical Society Trustee Keir Gumbs and Chief Legal Officer Edward Jones. The program airs June 18 at noon ET. A link to watch the program will be posted on this page in advance.
In 1962, "Ike" Hunt became one of the first African American attorneys at the SEC's Division of Investment Management, then Corporate Regulation. He went on to have a stellar career in private practice and academia and later returned to the SEC as commissioner from 1996 to 2002. To learn more, visit the museum exhibit on Ike Hunt.
The Hall of Honor in his name is part of a larger annual initiative to recognize, honor and preserve the historical contributions of people from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds in the financial regulatory community.
To launch this initiative, the Society's VP of Development and Engagement, Ron Long, made a seed gift. Mr. Long is leading an effort to gather support for the Hall to honor future awardees. We encourage you to explore www.sechistorical.org to learn about Ike Hunt, the Hall of Honor, and other virtual museums and galleries. While there, please consider donating to support this special honor and the SEC Historical Society's mission.
